Haller’s Army Uniform Page |
Haller’s Army was outfitted by the French. Their uniforms were of the same sky blue color as the regular French Army, thus the name “Blue Army” was given to them.
The uniform shown in the following pictures is in the collection of Mr. Paul R. Konys and is one of the finest examples of the uniform tunic worn by Haller’s army officers. A special thank you is given to Mr. Konys, for without his generosity and dedication to the preservation of Polish militaria, this uniform page would not be possible.
Haller’s Army Tunic
From the collection of Paul R. Konys
This tunic originally came with the Cross or Horyn on it. The 1918-21 Polish war medal and an original Polish -Russian war veterans association Medal were added. It is an original example of fine Polish jewelers handiwork. The tunic was reworked to have a proper Polish collar with branch of service. The original tunics had the shorter French collars with the unit numbers on the collar points.
